Previous exploration programs developed geophysical and geochemical anomalies in this zone of geology similar to that of the Pine-Fir-Tree mineralized zones to the south and southeast.
Diamond drill hole PN-07-01, drilled at dip -75°, intersected 67.7 m of monzonite porphyry and 69.6 m of quartz monzonite before the hole was terminated at 137.31 m due to mechanical problems with the drill. Both intrusive rock units were veined by quartzpyrite- magnetite, showed propylitic alteration, and locally elevated values in copper and silver.
The planned five-hole, 1200 m drill program was not completed, as the drill contractor was unable to complete the contract. The remainder of the contract should be completed in 2008.
The drill program was supervised by Dr. Kenneth M. Dawson, Ph.D., P.Geo, the Qualified Person for this project under the conditions of NI 43-101, and the author of this news release.
